Theatre
Arts Center conducts interviews and auditions for
each
student (ages 7-19) who is interested in joining the summer
workshop.
This process is part of the professional experience and
SPACE IS LIMITED.
There is no fee to audition.

AUDITION INFORMATION FOR LATE APPLICATIONS &
OUT
OF TOWN APPLICANTS

If
you would like to audition for the 2008 Summer Workshops, please
Email us with your name, age, a day and evening phone number and the
Workshop that interests you. In your email, include some
information on your theatre, dance, and/or performing
experience. We will email you instructions on how to submit
your audition by video/dvd. (See below.)

OUT
OF TOWN & LATE APPLICANT AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Out of town & Late Applicants auditioning
for the Musical Theatre program must submit
a video tape audition of a song (solo) and dance.
A clip of the auditioner dancing from
a recital or other show would be fine.
Just pinpoint who to look for in the
video if it is a group piece.
2. TEENS auditioning for the Drama/Acting Ensemble
must submit a video clip of a one to two minute
memorized Monologue.
(Teens who would like to be considered
for either program, must submit a song, dance,
and monologue.)
3. All auditioners should speak on the video about
their theatre and/or dance background and why
they want to be accepted into our professional
summer workshop.
4. A
recent photo/headshot and
5. A letter of recommendation from a Theatre Professional
or Performing Arts Teacher is also helpful,
but not required.

Only VHS or DVD is accepted. You may
also email a video clip in some cases. Call or
write for info.

If you will be submitting a video audition,

WHAT TO PREPARE
for LIVE AUDITIONS:
*
Musical
Theatre applicants (ages 7 - 19) should prepared a
short song, preferably from a Broadway Show
(Bring your music on CD or cassette tape. A Cappella OK. )
*
Be
prepared to dance. (Dress in Dance clothes and shoes or comfortable slacks and
sneakers.)
*
Teens auditioning for the Acting Ensemble (ages 13 - 19)
should prepare a short 1-2 minute monologue (memorized).
*
Teens who would like to be considered for either program
should prepare a song, monologue, and be prepared to dance. This will give you more chances of being
accepted.
*
Teens
who would like to be considered for the Cabaret Company
should indicate this at the audition and will be asked to attend a
call back audition with a prepared song.
